Forest Seeds: Youth Land Connection

Through free play, guided activities, and seasonal adventures, kids will deepen their sense of belonging and practice respect for themselves, others, and the land. Activities include fire-building, foraging, carving, crafting, cooking over fire, tracking, shelter-building, and harvesting wild plants for food and medicine. Students will also have the opportunity to safely learn how to use basic tools like flint strikers, knives, hatchets, and saws. This program encourages embodied movement, quiet reflection, and creative time on the land, all aimed at fostering curiosity, resilience, and confidence. By embracing the rhythms of the seasons, kids will build inner and outer strength while developing a deep connection to the Gorge landscape and learning to thrive in all types of weather.
