Rachael Pecore-Valdez

Rachael Pecore-Valdez, MS (she/her), is an Environmental Scientist and Educator. Raised on a farm in the Willamette Valley, Oregon, she spent her after-school hours as a kid foraging for edible plants, salmon fishing and writing poems in tree forts. It is a joy for her to share the privilege of knowing nature as a place for sustenance, rejuvenation and reflection. Nature has also been a lifeline to calm and well-being for Rachael as a person with sensory sensitivities and ADHD. She believes nature connection is a vital tool for the mental health of all kids today, and draws from a trauma-informed, place-based and curiosity centered approach. Rachael joins us as an Explorer Camp guide. You can connect and learn about Rachael’s work at her website readingnature.com
